Transitional Housing and Support Services helps homeless families and children by providing temporary housing and comprehensive case management and support services to help them attain social and economic self-sufficiency. The ultimate goal of the program is to stabilize these families, help them cope with their complex problems and prevent a return to homelessness. Each family will have a case manager to guide them through the program to attain self-sufficiency. Participating Families must meet the following requirements.

  1. Homeless residing in a shelter, motel or otherwise must meet the Department of Housing and Urban Development definition of homelessness (with eviction notice, in eviction proceedings, living with relatives in crowded apartments, etc).
  2. Able-bodied adult members must be employed or in a job training program for at least 35 hours a week. Training and education is accepted in lieu of work hours .
  3. If mental health or health issues exist, a full-time treatment program is acceptable in lieu of the 30 hours a week employment.
  4. Families must show a motivation and willingness to address the problems that led to their homelessness.
