Referral Source and Process:
Social workers from Department of Family Service, case managers,
ESL teachers, community members, and Community Based Organizations (CBO) can assist
prospective families with completing the Transitional Housing application. They should be
sent to the following person:

The referrals will be screened for initial eligibility and eligible
applicants will be offered an interview with a panel consisting of KHRW staff. If accepted
the family will sign an agreement, which includes agreeing to pay 1st month rent and
security deposit for the apartment.
Program Expectations
1. Families will be in contact with their KHRW social worker a minimum
of 2 times a week. At least one will be a home visit. Case management will be
provided to families in the program through KHRWs case managers.
2. Rent will be 30% of the family's income and is due the first of each
month. A late fee will be charges after the 5th.
3. Continued participation in employment and income generating activities.
4. Follow through with any recommended treatment programs.
The Transitional Housing and Support Services to Refugee Families
provides intensive services to homeless families who are striving to stabilize their
