Kurds in Iraq - A Special Report
 For decades, Saddam Hussein's policies of "national correction"
and " arabization" have resulted in the systematic expulsion of Kurds
from their homes. According to Human Rights Watch, an estimated 120,000 Kurds,
Turkmen and Assyrians from the towns and villages of the oil-rich region
of Kirkuk since 1991. Tens of thousands more have been killed in Halabja
and other cities. Between February and September 1988, the Iraqi regime
mounted the infamous Anfal Genocide Campaign, which resulted in the massacre
of at least 180,000 men, women and chlidren and destruction of
5000 Kurdish villages. To this date, thousands more are unaccounted
