KHRW is extremely concerned by the humanitarian need in Iraq. Iraqi Kurds fear being caught in the crossfire and Saddam's revenge. The considerable number of internally displaced people (IDPs) are seeking refuge in the mountains . Humanitarian workers and observers are reporting a serious lack of shelter and food. KHRW has centers in two major cities (Erbil and Sulaimanya) in Northern Iraq, which have been providing humanitarian assistance for many years.
